Picasa LogoBeen tinkering with Picasa these past few days. I'm beginning to really like it for it's ease of use and simple but attractive user interface. Among the feature which I really like about it is its ability to churn out XML code for a particular album. Why so? With the XML file, I can the use a XSL stylesheet to generate a web page according to my liking. This is what I've done with two of my wedding photos. Their new link are:

Ampang I Ampang II
It's still very basic, though. What I've managed to do is to create thumbnail links from the xml file. When the thumbnail is clicked, the image will be displayed below the thumbnails. Simple eh... There's still a problem with image sizing, though. Maybe some one out there can help me out with that. Hmmmm.. need to read up on XSLTs... Oh.. and also thanks to Michael Suodenjoki. I'm using excerpts from his javascript in this article.

GMail InviteYeah.. I've got 6 invites to give away. So.. If you are interested in getting into GMail, just gimme a holler. It's 1GB mail storage space free!!! I've been using gmail for almost a year now. so far, i've got no complaints.. well, it's just another mail service anyway..

Secunia.com Almost all browsers are vulnerable to the Window Injection Vulnerability. This is what Secunia Research reported recently. They even have a test page to demonstrate the vulnerability. Here's what they're saying:

Secunia Research has reported a vulnerability in Mozilla / Mozilla Firefox, which can be exploited by malicious people to spoof the content of websites. The problem is that a website can inject content into another site's window if the target name of the window is known. This can e.g. be exploited by a malicious website to spoof the content of a pop-up window opened on a trusted website.
Upon testing my FireFox 1.0, I found that indeed, Firefox is vulnerable as mentioned. The pop-up window was spoofed if I were to launch the link directly in the same browser tab. However, if the link was launched into a new tab, the spoof did not happen. What does this mean? Will I be safer if I were to launch all links into new tabs then? I dunno. Is there a patch for this yet? As of this writing, i haven't seen any announcement of a patch out yet for this. Thus, be extra carefull y'all...

Back from Perlis and straight to the office. Mama (mom in law) is now at home. She was released from the hospital the day before. Oh yeah.. she had a mild stroke (according to the docs). Though, she is still not 100%. Her left side is still a bit weak. God willing, she will recover soon. On a lighter note.. Today, while driving back to KL, I almost ran over a deer in the middle of the North South highway. Right after the Tapah R&R. As I was just reaching the speed limit, suddenly I saw this silhouette of a deer crossing the highway and stopping in the middle of the road. I slowed down a bit hoping it would turn back to where ever it came from. However, it didn't move, but simply stood there in the middle of the road and stared directly at my direction as if in a faze. Thus, I had to slam on the brakes. It was drizzling, thus my slamming on the brakes made the car skid for a few meters before i released the brakes and made a swift right turn to avoid hitting the still dazed animal. Thank god, i managed to avoid hitting the poor animal by a few inches. I'm also grateful that there were no other vehicles nearby at that point in time. Otherwise... Perhaps we should have a sign that says beware of deer crossing on our highways eh? I've seen signs for cows, bulls, chickens and elephants crossing.. but never a deer crossing. How about it PLUS?

Guess what.. I've decided to utilize my blogger account for my blogs. I've had it for quite some simte now, but never really utilized it fully. Been using it only to test out stuff - whatever.. So, since I haven't really the time (actually too damn lazy) to set up a proper blogging tool for my site, I decided to use blogger instead. Well... at the very least, I'm back in the blogging world... Oh yes... to all muslims in the world... Eid Mubarak!!!

Haloscan commenting and trackback have been added to this blog.

Since my site is still not up yet, guess I'll be jotting down my entries over here. Don't really know when my site will be running once again. Too busy to set it all up. I'm currently blogging from UMMC, using a customer's PC. Been spending quite some time here lately. Late nites.. overseeing their server upgrade exercise - basically doing nothing. As for my web site, it's currently down because I've once again been moved to another subsidiary of the company. This time around, I don't have access to the network's firewall, yet. Thus, I am unable to configure my server to be accessible to the net. Yes, I'm using my office workstation to host my web site. The new site will once again be running on Windows, unless I decide to reformat my workstation once again. I've got a couple of options on where to host my site, though. During the move, I've managed to bring a few servers along with me, which I will reformat soon enough. Perhaps, I will install a Linux server in one of those and run my site from there. Until that day arrives, I will, for now, be pouring out my thoughts in this blogger account of mine.

With this I thee wed..
